MISO Auction Attack

On September 15th, an attacker drained 864.8 ETH (around $3 million worth) from the Jay Pegs Auto Mart auction contract. They did this by switching the contract address to an address they controlled. The full funds were subsequently returned and are waiting to be sent to the Jay Pegs team. The affected code has been updated to ensure that the incident cannot be repeated. A full postmortem can be found here.

An unfortunate situation but Sushi and the whole ecosystem will come out stronger!

0xMaki trades in toque blanche for a Sushi Advisor role

The community were disheartened to hear that their Head Chef is taking a step back. Under 0xMaki, Sushi has been transformed into the leading blue-chip it is today. He will continue to advise the protocol and will always be an integral part of the Sushi community. He has made it clear on many occasions that his vision for Sushi has always been to be leaderless so it can flourish under a truly decentralised community.

Other reasons for this decision is so that he can help foster the future generations of builders for our space and contribute towards the wider DeFi ecosystem. All of this being crucial to ensuring the longevity of this cultural shift.

So no need to worry, 0xMaki isn't going anywhere! You can read his official announcement here.

The situation has sparked a further discussion for developing a compensation structure for the core Sushi team.
